Description:
Our company’s fully automatic direct shear tester is used to determine the shear strength of soil. It features a high-resolution color screen display and intelligent microcomputer control, achieving automation, ease of operation, high precision, stable speed, reliable performance, and an attractive appearance. The instrument uses a high-performance stepper motor as the drive source, significantly reducing vibration. The electric shearing rate is selectable and can be quickly changed. It is easy to use, durable, and supports simultaneous shearing of four samples. It has an automatic stop mechanism upon returning to its starting position. Key features include: the transmission method has been changed from the original DC speed-regulating motor to a compact stepper motor; the motor power supply has been changed from 220V to 48V; and the lever force point has been improved from the original knife-edge type to a bearing type. This product comes standard with our fully automatic direct shear tester PC testing software, which automatically measures settlement deformation during testing, allows for manual graded loading, automatically calculates test results, displays various test curves, and outputs reports.
This instrument is mainly used to determine the shear strength of soil. Typically, four soil samples are used. Shear stress at failure was determined by applying horizontal forces under different vertical pressures (400 kPa, 300 kPa, 200 kPa, 100 kPa, and 50 kPa selectable). Then, the shear strength parameters, internal friction angle, and cohesion of the soil were determined according to Coulomb’s law.
