LS Drop Sand Abrasion Tester

How it works:
The drop sand wear tester is used to test the wear resistance of organic coatings under standard conditions. This method tests the wear resistance of the coating by dropping the abrasive onto the coated test plate from a specified height through a conduit until the bottom material of the test plate is exposed. The wear resistance of the coating on the test plate is expressed by the wear amount per unit film thickness. The test method of the instrument conforms to the requirements of the American industry standard ASTMD968-83 middle drop sand test for the wear resistance of organic coating and the construction industry standard JG/T 133-2000 fluorocarbon coating for building aluminum profiles and aluminum plates for testing the wear resistance.

Test preparation:
1. Prepare the test plate according to the standard requirements and place it at (23±2) ℃ and relative humidity (50±5) % for 24 ساعات.
2. Calibration instrument:
(1) Pour a certain amount of sand into the funnel (1), check the sand flow falling from the lower end of the conduit (4), and calibrate the device with the bottom adjusting screw (8) until the inner of the sand bundle falls on the center of the sand flow when viewed from two positions 90° to each other. Adjust the distance from the pipe to the painted surface according to ASTM standard, the close point of the pipe is 1 بوصة (25مم) when measured in the vertical direction, the user needs to adjust according to their own template thickness, the machine pre-adjusted 25mm before the factory. To pour a certain volume of sand (2000±10ml is appropriate), and measure the outflow time, the outflow speed should be 21S ~ 23.5S outflow 2L.
(2). Secure the test plate with a test clamp (5) and gradually increase the amount of sand put in until the substrate is gradually worn out to reveal a 5/32 بوصة (4مم) diameter dot. The entire abrasion area is an oval about 1 بوصة (25مم) wide and 1.25 بوصة (30مم) long. The center of the large wear area should be on the center line of the long axis of the wear figure and within 9/16 ل 11/16 بوصة (14 to 17mm) of the upper end. To correct the wear dot in the center of the wear pattern, allow the instrument to make fine tuning.
(3). A metal test plate is fixed with a test plate clamp (5) with a 5/32 بوصة (4مم) فتحة, the center of the hole should be aligned with the center of the conduit, and the amount of sand falling into the container through the test plate hole is measured. If the amount of sand falling through the hole is 90% ل 93% of the total sand falling on the test plate, the instrument is considered standard.
