The reaction formula of Karl Fischer’s reagent with water is:

The reagent solution used is a mixture of dominant iodine and sulfur dioxide filled with arsenic, methanol, إلخ. Iodine is formed on the anode by electrolysis, and the iodine produced is, according to Faraday’s law, directly proportional to the amount of charge. As follows:

In the electrolysis process, the water is gradually reduced, and the titration speed is correspondingly reduced until the electrolytic end point control loop is opened.
