二. Testing Principles and Methods
The plant canopy image analyzer utilizes the principle that canopy porosity is related to canopy structure. Based on Beer’s Law (light attenuation through a medium), and under a series of assumptions about the plant canopy, it uses a semi-theoretical, semi-empirical formula to calculate canopy structure parameters by measuring canopy porosity. This is the principle universally used by various canopy analyzers worldwide. Under this principle, the plant canopy image analyzer measures canopy porosity by analyzing images of the lower dome hemisphere of the canopy. This method is the most accurate, labor-saving, time-saving, and convenient among various methods.

III. Structural Composition
The plant canopy image analyzer consists of a fisheye image capture probe (comprising a fisheye lens and a CMOS image sensor), a measuring rod (rocker arm) 和 25 built-in PAR sensors, a laptop computer, and image analysis software. The fisheye probe is mounted on the top of a lightweight rocker arm, enabling it to acquire fisheye images with a 180° field of view. Image display and storage are handled by the configured laptop computer.

V. Functional Features
1. Automatically Leveling Fisheye Lens: The small fisheye camera lens, specially designed for measuring plant canopy structure, is mounted on a handheld universal joint and automatically maintains a level position, eliminating the need for a tripod.
2. Fisheye Lens Can Extend into the Canopy: The lens is mounted on one end of a rocker arm. Due to its compact size and the included measuring rod, it can be easily extended horizontally forward or vertically upward into different heights of the canopy for rapid stratified measurements, determining the vertical distribution of light transmittance and leaf area index within the canopy.
3. Image Analysis Software: The image analysis software allows for arbitrary definition of image analysis areas (zenith angle can be divided into 10 区域, azimuth angle into 10 区域).
