This instrument measures the amount of CO2 absorbed (released) by plant leaves over a specific time period, while simultaneously measuring air temperature and humidity, leaf temperature, light intensity, and the leaf area assimilating CO2. It can then directly calculate photosynthetic rates, transpiration rates, intercellular CO2 concentration, and stomatal conductance, among other photosynthetic indicators. It is widely used in plant physiology, plant biochemistry, ecology, and agricultural science.

2.
