The reaction formula of Karl Fischer’s reagent with water is:

The reagent solution used is a mixture of dominant iodine and sulfur dioxide filled with arsenic, methanol, itd. Iodine is formed on the anode by electrolysis, and the iodine produced is, according to Faraday’s law, directly proportional to the amount of charge. As follows:

This system guarantees high precision, sensitive valves and high speeds during analysis.
