Ford cups are made according to ASTM D 1200, D333, D365, the American Society for Testing Materials Standards for paints and raw materials. They are used to determine the viscosity of inks, premazi, and paints. It is made of a high-quality aluminum cup with a small hole at the bottom and a capacity of about 100ml The Ford cup evaluates the viscosity of a material by measuring the time it takes for a certain volume of material in the aluminum cup to flow out of a small hole at the bottom. It is widely used in some countries in Europe and North America.
