Significado e Propósito

4.1 The test will provide information about the ability of the coating applied to the pipe to resist cracking, peeling or other mechanical damage caused by bending. Since the test is applicable to commercially produced coated pipes, the results can be directly used to select similar service materials. This test can also be used as a quality control method when changes in coating application or material formulation can affect bending properties.

1.1 This test method includes specific determination of the effect of short radius bending on coating of 33.4 milímetros (1 inch nominal) diameter pipe.
