Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) involves adsorbing target compounds from a liquid sample with a solid adsorbent, separating them from the sample matrix and interfering compounds. The target compounds are then eluted with an eluent or desorbed by heating to isolate and enrich the target compounds (i.e., sample separation, purification, and enrichment). This approach aims to reduce sample matrix interference and improve detection sensitivity. It is used in various food safety testing, agricultural product residue monitoring, pharmaceutical and health care, environmental protection, commodity inspection, and in tap water and chemical production laboratories.
