ASTM D903 Single Column Tensile Tester—Peel or Stripping Strength of Adhesive Bonds
Peel strength is a physical property used to test the adhesion of materials such as adhesives, coatings and paints on different surfaces. It describes the balance between adhesion and peeling forces between two objects under given conditions, as well as the amount of force required to peel them. Peel strength is often used to evaluate the adhesion performance of coatings or adhesives on different surfaces.
ASTM D903
This test method covers the determination of the comparative peel or stripping characteristics of adhesive bonds when tested on standard-sized specimens and under defined conditions of pretreatment, temperatura, and testing machine speed.
This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Comitato.
Utilizzo
