Introducción
The Thermal Diffusion (TDP) Plant Stem Sap Flow Monitoring System is designed based on the Granier sap flow measurement principle. It comprises two probe configurations: a two-needle type and a three-needle type. The two-needle configuration consists of two probes, with the upper probe incorporating a heating element; the three-needle configuration consists of three probes, with the central probe incorporating a heating element. The heating probe utilizes constant-power heating, while thermocouples are employed to measure the temperature difference between the upper and lower probes. A data acquisition system—integrated with a wireless transmission module—automatically collects data and periodically transmits it to a data center. By applying the principles of thermal diffusion and empirical coefficients, the system calculates the plant stem sap flow rate, thereby reflecting the plant’s transpiration and water consumption status. Además, the three-needle configuration is capable of measuring reverse sap flow.
The wrap-around plant sap flow monitoring system is designed based on the principles of the heat balance method. By measuring the energy balance relationship—specifically, the input heat relative to the heat conducted radially, upward, and downward along the stem, as well as the heat carried by the sap flow—the system calculates the plant’s stem sap flow rate, thereby reflecting the plant’s transpiration and water consumption status. This system is suitable for measuring sap flow in slender-stemmed trees or herbaceous plants.
Key Features
