Instrument Introduction:
The strength of plant stems is a major factor determining a crop’s resistance to lodging. For a long time, lodging of crops such as corn, sorghum, and tobacco has caused significant difficulties in mechanical harvesting, resulting in substantial food waste from a mechanization perspective. Furthermore, lodging leads to insufficient sunlight, severely limiting crop yield. Conducting in vivo measurements of stems at various stages of crop growth, and then statistically processing the population measurement data based on the correlation between the bending resistance of the stem fiber layer and lodging resistance, is of great significance for crop cultivation and breeding.
