BML-II Glas Oppervlaktespanning Masjien

Inleiding

The instrument uses the glass wire shrinkage method to measure the surface tension in the softening temperature range. The test principle of the instrument is that the glass wire of a certain length and diameter is freely suspended in an electric furnace at a certain temperature, so that the glass wire is heated locally, in the process of heating to heat preservation, the glass wire is initially expanded by heat, and then the glass wire in the furnace is softened under the action of surface tension and begins to shrink, resulting in the formation of an olive-shaped nodule on this section of glass wire. When the surface tension of the softened part of the glass reaches a balance with the weight of the glass wire at the lower end, the nodule no longer increases. By measuring the weight of the glass wire at the lower end, the surface tension of the glass at the holding temperature can be calculated. The device is used to test and analyze the surface tension of glass and fiber in scientific research and teaching field.
